This past fall I had a "full circle" photography experience. Let's back up 11 years ago when I was engaged to my high school sweetheart and looking for a wedding photographer. A friend had recommended this couple and I immediately connected with their work. (Check out The Popes for amazing wedding photographers, they are not only so talented, but truly wonderful people). After talking with them I knew they were the right photographers for me, but I had no idea the path our relationship would take. 10 years ago this beautiful couple photographed my wedding. I still cherish those images and am so grateful I ensured photography at the top of my priority for my big day.

A year after the wedding I was toying with the idea of becoming a photographer. I had always loved photography, but calling myself a photographer was a bit intimidating. I reached out to my wedding photographers and they were encouraging and so very helpful. They even allowed me to "third shoot" on a few of their weddings. The time with them was priceless. It showed me that not only did I not want to do weddings, but that I had to be a photographer.

Fast forward to this past fall when they reached out to me for family photos. I was beyond flattered and I admit, rather nervous. Could I deliver something that met their expectations? Photographers make the toughest photography clients.

The day of their session came and the weather wasn't sunny as we had hoped. But it wasn't raining, and the fall color was amazing, so I reassured them we would capture beautiful images. Upon delivering their gallery, the mom even said, "I never envisioned there would be so many good ones....I'm really glad we did this!"
