I know when a particular family is on my calendar, that we will have a photo session with imagination. I have photographed this family since their oldest was just 3 months old. He was a lot smaller and a lot balder back then, and it has been so amazing watching him grow. Him and his younger brother are full of imagination and are so lively and playful. But mom and dad are right there with them. They smile brightly at their sons as they throw rocks into the river, turns sticks into weapons. Dad made a teeter-totter out of two branches he found on the trail, and he made a sling shot out of some plant stems and grass. I was impressed when they got a pinecone to shoot across the field.
Every year, mom brings along their little lamb stuffies to document their growth with. I love how they turned from rough and tumble boys to sweet boys snuggling their lovie. It is such a great detail to add to their yearly family photos.
Of course, this family session is never complete without a little jumping. Usually, dad jumps miles higher than everyone, but this year, I think mom took the cake. What do you think?
