The most common question I'm asked right now is how am I "adjusting to 3 kids." While most are just checking in on me, some are frightened at the thought of 3 kids, ages 4 and under! Life is a crazy whirlwind. It's busy. Each day is full of laughter, tears, kids fighting, and finding balance. And yet, I have found that adjusting to 3 kids is WAY easier then it was adjusting to 2 kids. Maybe it is because I've relaxed a little with Hudson, not as stressed about having every nap in her crib. Maybe it is because I've learned to be okay with crying kids. Maybe it is because Sawyer was such a hard baby compared to Milo, making that transition harder. Whatever the reason, I'm doing well. That doesn't mean I'm going to take them all grocery shopping or that I can get out of the house quickly. But we are happy and loving life as a family of 5.

I've been so thankful for the sunshine. Getting outside with the kids is almost the cure for sibling bickering. They love helping me in my garden and can play so sweetly. Like this moment I captured on my phone and shared on Instagram. (Yes, even Sadie, the dog, hangs out waiting for her ball to be thrown).

Another favorite pastime is baking cookies. (Stay tuned for tomorrow's post. More on cookies and even our favorite chocolate chip cookie recipe!) As you can see, Sawyer loves her cookies!

There are a lot of walks with the kids and playing in the dirt. Hudson is starting to be awake for longer periods and will even join the big kids in the grass. Milo & Sawyer always race over to see her and play with her. I will always cherish photos like these, showing how much they adore their baby sister.

Adjusting to 3 kids might be toughest on Sawyer. Or at least, it's toughest on me about Sawyer. She was my baby girl, and now she's my big girl. When Milo is at preschool, it used to be time for me to spend with just her. Now, Hudson is there too. Often while I'm nursing Sawyer and I will read a book together or play Go-Fish. Sometimes, she grabs a pair of my shoes and tries them on near me.

We have even made a trip to the golf course with all 3 kids! Although I wore Hudson and didn't play, she was there with us in one of our favorite places to go as a family. It felt "normal" with the kids riding in Grandpa's golf cart, putting on the greens, and sliding down the hills.

So the answer to how are we "adjusting to 3 kids?" We are adjusting quite well. We, in no means, have it all figured out, especially when all three are melting down at the same time. But we are finding our stride!
