I always feel so fortunate when a family asks me to photograph their family year after year. It means they enjoyed their experience, loved their photos, and trust me to capture them again. It is even more special when that family is a friend from school.
This mama and I have known each other since the 4th grade when I moved to Washington State. In high school we were very close, from playing tennis together to waiting in a line hours long when Krispy Kreme first came to Issaquah. However, life took us on different paths for a while and we lost touch part way through college. Fortunately for me, she found me on social media when their oldest girl was just 6 months old. Since then we have reconnected and I have gotten to photograph her family as it has grown.
Photography means so much. It is a way to document your family in the here and now, to look back and where you’ve been, and in my case, it has given me the chance to reconnect with an old friend.
I only slightly apologize for the overshare of photos from their fall family photos by the river. I just can’t help myself, I shoot a lot and I give families large galleries. If you’d love family photos with me, I am now booking 2018 sessions.
