The fall photography workshop results are in! A few weeks ago I had the pleasure of teaching 5 amazing women how to use their cameras at my Photography Workshop for Moms! Although everyone has their own story and deep desires for what they want to capture with their camera, 3 of the ladies were expecting and wanted to not waste a minute of their newest addition's life not knowing how to use their camera. I joke that it was the maternity workshop as 4 of us were pregnant. We spent the morning breaking down the details of their cameras, learning simple settings to instantly make taking photos better and easier. Then we dove into understanding focus, and Aperture, Shutter Speed, and ISO.
Then it was time for the real fun - putting it all into practice with sweet babies and their mommies! And we had three wonderful mommies and their babies. The ladies dove right in and captured beautiful moments that I know these moms will cherish.
Like this first image, Emily captured of baby girl who was just 5 weeks old. I love the angle of this shot and how she captured baby girl mid-yawn. So precious. Here's another one Emily captured! Don't you just adore this image?! I love how the focus is on her eyes, yet we can see how she's grabbing onto her toes. Emily has also used light so beautifully to create depth and emotion in this image.
Elizabeth captured another baby girl's sweet details. This stage is all about grabbling the feet and she got right in their and nailed it! See how her toes are in focus and baby girl blurs out in the background? Way to use your manual settings!
Amy captured this sweet moment of mother and daughter. I love how she's used the leading lines of mom's tattoo to bring us right to focusing on baby girl!
Laura rocked her camera. She was using a kit lens, and it was getting dark out, but she captured this beautiful photo of mother and child. I love her composition, how you feel mom's presence, but don't need all of her in the frame. I also love how the light is just hitting baby girl, almost like a spotlight!
Amy used light perfectly in the next image too! You have to love those giggles and the subtle presence of mom here. You'd also never know this was taken in my ugly stairwell, with how Amy framed and exposed the image! Love it!
This next shot was taken about the same time, but from a different angle. Danielle captured such a sweet moment. I love the lighting and the composition here. And look at that light in her eyes! Beautiful photo!
There were so many other favorites to share, I know the moms are just loving having some extra gorgeous photos of them with their baby girls! And I know that the ladies who took the workshop are going to capture beautiful images with intention and purpose this holiday season as they know how to use their cameras!
