Just over a week ago, Derek, Milo and I welcomed a baby GIRL into our lives! We could not have been more surprised and delighted (we were both certain we were having a boy....she fooled us!). Arriving at 6 lbs, 15 ounces and 18 3/4 inches long, Miss Sawyer Addison could not have been more perfect.

Of course, we had to do a newborn shot on "sheepy!" I do have to say, when we first did the shot with Milo, it was easy. It took one time, we set the sheep down, placed him on it and got the shot. Little did we know how lucky we were. Sawyer was a half a pound smaller and 1/2 an inch shorter than Milo was and we could hardly get her to fit! But we did manage to get a great shot for her first picture with sheepy!Since her arrival, I have been trying to take it easy. However, I can't help but pick up the camera and capture my baby girl!I decided to try out a few props with her. I don't generally use many props, but thought I would give them a try. I love  her all tucked up in this little red wagon! While it is fun to pose newborns on props, my favorite types of shots are still capturing more true moments. Derek captured this one of mother and daughter. Isn't he getting good behind the camera? This last shot may be one of my favorites. Nothing fancy - my son is practically naked, my daughter swaddled and asleep. But it tells the true story of my family right now. Isn't that what photography is about anyway?

While I'm not doing any sessions for a few more weeks, I am booking up the rest of 2012. Dates are filling up, so make sure to book your family session soon! If you want your images in time for Holiday Cards, you must have your session by November 17th!
