In case you missed it the winner for the Summer Photo Challenge was announced here on Facebook! Thank you to everyone who participated. You kept me motivated and inspired for capturing summer. Summer is rapidly winding down. The days are finally tolerable on a regular basis (true Washingtonian here!), and I find myself longing for scarves, soups, and pumpkin everything. Yet I know in a few weeks I will be wondering why I ever wished away those warm summer days where the kids can play outside for hours. Since I can't actually freeze time, I will have to capture our summer adventures. As I was looking through my list from the Summer Photo Challenge, I realized I have a LOT left with so little time!

We recently visited the Oregon Coast and it was the perfect opportunity to capture several of the images for the photo challenge. I still have tons of photos to go through, but here's a start!

FREE. There's nothing like a wide open beach, for a little girl to feel like she's running free! Of course, daddy is right behind her.

OUT OF FOCUS. I got plenty of shots in focus of Derek running into the freezing cold Ocean. But there's something about this out of focus image that makes it that much more impactful. Wouldn't you agree? Plus, I fulfill a summer photo challenge prompt!

SILHOUETTE. My little girl flying high.

WARMTH. Her smile warms my heart for sure. And I just love the light from the setting sun here.

FROM A DISTANCE. This one was taken the night before we left for our trip. But as I stood their holding our baby, and watched the kids play (and even Sadie sitting there) in our backyard, I knew this was the perfect moment to capture from a distance.

MONEY. For now, his favorite thing to do is dig and scoop money with his trucks. One day he will better grasp what money is for, but for now, I love how focus he is as he plays with money every so innocently.

summer photo challenge,

YOUR PET. Our dog is the sweetest Border Collie. Everyone loves her. Even the neighbors whose shoes she stole when she was a puppy. A recent discovery of Hudson is her doggie, Sadie. She gets so excited to see the dog. And the feeling is mutual as you can see.

SCARY. At the park the other day and Derek sees her doing this and says, "that's scary." I chuckled. See Silhouette above for the irony!

OUTDOOR ACTIVITY. Sawyer would swing (or "sing" as she calls it) all day, everyday if she could. A park is not a park if it doesn't have a swing. I can't help but smile as I look at that big smile and crazy hair on my girl.

NATURE. A walk through the woods at the grandparents' house.

Whew! That was a long one! And I have two weeks left to get 20 more photos done! I may not quite make it, but I'm going to try. I invite you to join me and continue to capture your summer!
