Several people have asked me what's in my camera bag. While I had shared this not too long ago, I realized that my lenses have almost completely changed since then. So, it's time to update what's in my camera bag!
The biggest change, is that I only shoot with prime lenses. While there is a big debate (which I don't wish to get in with anyone, everyone has their own preferences), I like the sharpness and wider apertures a prime lenses offers. Although I sometimes miss the ability to zoom in without moving my feet, I feel the benefits outweigh the cons of a prime lens. And, if I can count photographing with a prime lens as a workout, even better!
2.Canon 50mm F/1.4 Lens - The nifty 50. I don't know a photographer that doesn't have one of these. This is probably on my camera most. It's also the lens I recommend to moms when they ask which they should get. We talk about it (and other lenses) in my workshop!
3. Canon 85mm F/1.8 - My favorite lens for portraits. The bokeh it creates is beautiful without me having to be too far away.
4.Canon 100mm f/2.8L IS USM Macro Lens (not shown) - This lens isn't used as much as I would like. I love being able to shoot macro shots of newborns, and its even a decent lens for shooting portraits.
What's on my wish list? The Canon EF 135mm f/2L USM Lens. If you're wondering what to get me for a belated birthday present, it's this lens. I recently borrowed it from a friend and fell in love! It's perfect for chasing toddlers, or capturing them without them fully knowing. And don't get me started on the bokeh. I wouldn't mind another camera bag too. I love my Kelly Moore bag, but wouldn't mind another one, like this one, for when I don't want to carry all of my lenses!*
