What happens if my child is hesitant during our Fresh 48 session?
Of course we all hope our kids will be so excited to meet their new baby brother or sister, showering them in sweet tender kisses. But they are little humans, with big feelings, and that is okay. So if they are unsure, or aren’t excited about snuggling the new baby, that is okay.
I had met this family a few weeks prior for maternity photos. Their little boy was so sweet, and excited to be a big brother. However, when it came time to meet his sister he was an unsure big brother. He was also unsure of the hospital room and the lady with a camera pointed at him. So I gave him space as he needed it, and then asked him questions about what he had been up to. Finding common ground allowed him to relax, and eventually snuggle up with his baby sister. The resulting gallery was a beautiful collection of images that told the story of the first hours for this family of four.
